Corrective Color Over the years I’ve corrected many men and women who have not had success going to budget
salons or using over the counter hair color for their hair care needs. The success of hair coloring is
determined by the quality of the product and the correct formulation of ingredients as it applies to individual factors such
as porosity, texture, resistant gray, length, coarseness, natural color, thickness and desired color. This is the world of a professional colorist – those trained to provide the best solution for their clients.
A good colorist considers these factors and custom blends their color carefully measuring the correct amount of the proper
developer for each client. Each person is unique. Reasons to Not Use Over-the-Counter Hair Color.
Specifically, over-the-counter hair coloring products take
a one-size-fits-all approach, which is why they only cost between $8 - $20. Over-the-counter products are made and sold in
volume to take advantage of economies of scale. But the facts are one size does not fit all. Every woman's hair is different.
Results from over-the-counter products are not optimal for women
or men. Conversely,
hair stylist professionals go through an elaborate process to understand a woman's hair before they mix and apply hair-coloring
treatment. Therefore, individual customization is in high demand because it produces amazing results. This, of course, is
why salons charge a premium for hair coloring.

Three Steps to Donate Your Hair An increasing amount of people are losing their
hair due to chemotherapy or radiation treatments for leukemia, cancer, alopecia aerate and other diseases. Personal appearance
is a large part of self-esteem. Losing hair can make people self-conscience and uncomfortable in social settings. Thankfully,
people are donating their hair to groups like Locks of Love to make wigs for people who lose their hair due to an illness.
"Hair donation is an honorable and much needed act. It takes 6 to 10 ponytails of donated hair to make one wig for
a cancer patient or alopecia sufferer. Charities that accept donated hair estimates that 80 percent of hair donations are
made by young adults who feel compelled to help others, stated Ron Wehringer, Master Stylist at Hairpins. Ron continues,
"How can I donate hair is one of the more frequent questions that I get asked and that is why I wrote about it in my
blog." On the Web there is a lot of information related to donating hair, but the whole process I just
three easy steps: 1. Choose your charity.
There are many options based on whom the charity helps. Research and choose wisely, based on why you want to donate.
2. Grow your hair to the required length. This means taking
care of your hair and yourself so it's as healthy as possible. Remember, hair only grows about half an inch a month, so this
will take time. The average length of hair accepted is between 10 and 12 inches long. Highly processed hair is
often a problem to donate. 3. Have your stylist
do it for you. Just be sure to follow all the directions given by your chosen charity. If you don't, they might not
be able to use it. Not everyone can donate. The best hair for donation is clean, unprocessed and more than 10 Inches
in length. Gray hair, dreadlocks, permed or bleached hair is not accepted. The hair must be either in a ponytail or braid
when cut and remain that way when shipped. Loose hair, such as that trimmed and swept up, is not acceptable. Here is a partial list of known charities that have specific programs for donated hair:
Pantene Beautiful Lengths Wigs for Kids Locks of Love Children with Hair Loss Childhood Leukemia Foundation The hair is sent off to a company that makes the wigs and hairpieces. The shorter pieces are sold to make money
for the organization, while the others are given to those in need.
